Room U193 Excellent - Jun 2013

We sailed the 5 night cruise to the Bahamas & had 4 people in this room. This room has 2 pull down beds. One is directly over the heads of people sleeping in the twin beds pulled together. Not a fan of having a bed over my head... with a child that could roll out on me over my face :) Thank goodness there were no accidents. The beds were put up daily & pulled down each night. It was a little tight gettin around the beds to the window. EXCELLENT view! Our 1st day, it rained ALL day. So, all of the public covered areas of the ship were packed. This made our oceanview room even more appreciated. The 1st night was a huge storm w/ lots of lightning & we had a perfect viewpoint to watch. It was truly amazing. Later that night, we ventured out next to the pool are & stayed in the covered area, it was so empty that we were able to really enjoy ourselves. Camp Carnival was a hit w/ our girls. We had 2 rooms & had 2 people in an inside room U169. I wouldn't give up my oceanview for anything. Well worth the extra money. People that say you never stay in your room, must not stay in their room at home a lot, and must not have had a storm during their cruise. I became annoyed trying to squeeze through all of the people in the covered areas & was thankful for our retreat. The remainder of our cruise was fantastic as well. The only 2 things I didn't care for were the pool/hot tub areas. Don't kid yourself about getting in or allowing your kids in the pool. The pool is TINY. I don't think 1 more person could wedge themselves in there & it kind of grossed me out thinking about it. lol. The waterslides up on the top deck were great for the kids. There are 2 slides. But, get there early or forget about getting a chair. And, people will save spots & take 1 right out from under you as you are putting your towel on it. Trust me. Grrr. lol. The putt-putt area was nice as well. No one told us where to get the clus or balls. Finally, after asking around, someone pointed it out to us. I highly recommend going up to the top deck at night & walking out front. Don't make my mistake of going on formal night wearing a dress. As it will be over your head. Thank goodness no one was traumatized too badly. I can't say enough good things about Carnival Fantasy... honestly, I feel it was money well spent. We are about to go on another one in April 2014 & of course, will be getting an oceanview cabin. Be sure to bring your appetite! You can order as much food as you want in the dining room. My hubby is 6'7" and seriously, 1 night he had 5 appetizers & 2 entrees... and dessert. The servers will know your preferences & have your drinks ready for you. Each one was amazing. I recommend trying a Kiss on the Lips. Yum! Be forewarned about all the photo-ops on the ship. Each one turns out great & you will want to buy... so BEWARE! Our girls thought it was their very own modeling sessions each time we walked down the halls. They both had SO much fun. We had a teenager in the O2 club. He basically abandoned us within the first 30 minutes onboard & didn't even join us for dinner the last 3 nights. In Nassau, we went to a public beach ($4 per person each way) & it was ridiculous. You will not get 1 moment of peace from the locals trying to sell you stuff. The cocktails in a coco were much appreciated by the hubby. Again... be forewarned, it was straight liquor. If you shop in the bahamas, HAGGLE. You would be surprised how much prices will come down. In Freeport, we took a van to Port Lucaya resort & paid $10 each (round trip), they give you a card for the trip back. Then, it was $15/person at the resort & you can use their beach, & pool. You will still be bugged by a couple of people, but very peaceful for the most part. They offer banana boat rides, etc & we loved it. We had a grandmother, a 17 yr old, a 7 yr old, a 6 year old & hubby (36) & myself (40).
